The
"READER'S
DIGEST"
VERSION:
The
Pamona Boners were put together by vocalist Rob Morgan shortly after the
demise
of his previous band, the
Pudz. The band played
numerous shows around
the
Pacific Northwest in the 8 months or so that they were together (roughly
from
Summer
'82 through Spring '83), the most notable being a spot opening for IGGY
POP
at Western Washington University in which Iggy himself came backstage
after
their set to say 'hello' & tell them that he had enjoyed their performance!
The
Boners' set that night included (amongst others) "Quick Joey Small",
"Caught
in a Dream" by Alice Cooper, "Psychotic Reaction", Ricky
Nelson's
"If You Can't Rock Me", and Mott the Hoople's "Rock-n-Roll
Queen".
Talk about SUPER BOSS ROCK!!! Rob eventually pulled the
plug
to concentrate on his latest venture, namely the original run of
Poplust
Magazine. Rick went on to form club favorites The Bombardiers,
Mike
continued with The Moving Parts, & Rob eventually resurfaced
in
1984 with the first of many incarnations of The
Squirrels.
Fern
Bang... well, that's another story altogether (lol)! We
may
delve into this BONERMANIA stuff more thoroughly in
the
future... then again, we may not...and yes, they
knew
that "Pamona" was misspelled! What of it?
